Hey all..

how could I not make a post on this one



well to be honest..



im not playing to win this comp at all..



but I love seo comps and been in the last major 2 and done ok,

considering im by myself, going up against huge teams.. and my sites

ranked ok aswell..



I had to enter this one, since kelvins a friend of mine, though If

I win and i seriously doubt it, as im putting very little time into

it.. im amazed my VI site has ranked No5 already



but if you track what im doing, you might pick up something that works for very little time.


I had to use VI to enter the comp.. not sure how it will go as i only put very few IBL's to it.. its patsexample.info



we'll see how it comes along.


If i was to win any of the prizes.. I'll be donating the prizes to a charity, my favourtie charity is

would seem that questions asked have been answered and perhaps there is
no hidden agenda - it still is not going to make it any easier for the
current participants to stay on top but - as the saying goes, it's not
over until the fat lady sings.

#2 on google today! What a shock!

Here's the proof since no doubt, it will change (number one would be nice!)

It will be interesting to see if this holds and to try and figure out what I did right and make sure I keep doing it right.

By the way, the latest count for results 221,000 for "ambatchdotcom seocontest"

Update as of July 23, 2006

This entry is still showing #4 out of ... wait for it... a whopping 216,000 results in google.

The keywordchecker at digitalpoint however is showing me at #7 - I have found that the rank checkers are not very accurate generally.

I included an rank checking tool in my seo pages to check the ambatchdotcom seocontest rank on multiple google ip's and for the last several days it's been showing me at 5 or 6 but a manual check seems to contradict the results.

In other news, my other entry, for ambatchdotcom seocontest

is showing up on the digitalpoint check as number 20 (a manual check shows 22) but it's something anyway!

The only reason I visit the forum is to see who is bragging about what...

It is unfortunate that more people are not offering suggestions to the
beginners in the contest (like Ken)... have their eyes set on the 4
grand I guess

ya,
but I didn't really expect people to share secrets - maybe a
congeniality award for the participant who is most willing to help
others.

However, that said, I have no idea what I'm doing right or wrong -
I don't think the google results are representative of much right now -
I think it's the people that got lots of content right off the bat and
who have maybe built some decent back links.

I have 2 other entries that have good domain names and good content
but I can't even get them indexed right now - there are probably a few
like that and I'm guessing that once they get indexed, we'll see the
top 10 start changing (not my sites particularly but others who have
entries)

I have never done anything more than basic seo so seeing my entry
in the top five is a real blast - but I'm not expecting it to stay
there with limited resources - it will be hard to keep up with those
more experienced and those with contacts they have built up - never say
die though!
